Your Hamilton Wenham Edfund is kicking off the most wonderful time of the year on November 24th, the day after Thanksgiving: our annual Christmas Tree Sale. A great time to get a tree, but also a great time to volunteer with friends to sell Christmas trees. A little giving. A little getting. That's what it's all about.
Now with this year's October 28th event and our fourth year, it's time to share with you the 5 reasons to go to the Edfund Halloween Party (click through to read them all). In the past year a series of Edfund grants have begun a transformation in our elementary schools as former library spaces transform into 21st century Learning Commons. Last year Heidi Hebert, Library/Media Specialist at Cutler School, received a grant from the Edfund to re-envision and re-create the Media Center into a flexible, innovative, hands-on space to meet the needs of today’s students. The Cutler Learning Commons has become a model and an inspiration to all three elementary schools.
The Edfund of Hamilton-Wenham is proud to announce an exciting new grant that braids science, math and technology into one incredible experience for our Middle School students. It's a Hydroponic Vertical Grow Wall and was requested by Miles River Middle School Life Skills teacher, Danielle Petrucci.
Dr. Michael Thompson, world-renowned author, psychologist and speaker, is presenting a lecture entitled, “Deepening our Understanding of the Healthy Development of Boys.” Parents, educators, and community members are invited to attend this free event on Tuesday, May 17th, 7 p.m. at the Ferrini Auditorium at the Hamilton Wenham High School.
We are thrilled to announce that the Hamilton Wenham Edfund has launched a new web site. The site is a better reflection of our mission ("We grant advantage"), is easier to navigate, and most importantly easy for our board members to update.
As many of you know, the Edfund granted a 3D Printer Lab to the Hamilton-Wenham High School last year. Since then there have been all kinds of objects printed by students. From chess pieces to plant holders to key chains to pretty much everything in-between.
The Hamilton-Wenham Edfund is pleased to announce an exciting new grant to the Hamilton Wenham High School: $15,000 towards flexible, mobile, and collaborative, furniture for the 21st Century Classroom. A supremely creative idea from Assistant Principal, Bryan Menegoni, that liberates our teachers and students with newfound mobility in the classroom.
A $53,000 grant that provides each of the Buker, Cutler, and Winthrop Schools with 30 iPad Airs, Smart Cases and related technology, was awarded this week by the Hamilton Wenham Edfund. It's the biggest grant in the Edfund's history to the towns' elementary schools.
