Endowment
A Vehicle for Granting Opportunity Today and Beyond
The EdFund endowment was established as a community initiative in 1990 and organized around the primary goal of building a permanent endowment fund to advance excellence in the Hamilton-Wenham School District for generations to come. The EdFund believes that for our schools to maintain the standard of excellence our community desires, we must provide educators with access to resources that enrich the educational experience for our children, but might not be otherwise funded by the school district.
Each year, through the generosity of our donors, we raise funds for two reasons:
To provide current-use money to support annual grants and initiatives submitted by teachers, administrators and students in our schools; and
To ensure that our endowment will support our school system and its educational programs in perpetuity
Raising current-use dollars through generous donations and building our endowment allow us to have a tangible impact now and also to create a legacy that ensures we can preserve these educational opportunities for future generations of students.
Our endowment is managed by professional investment advisors and generates enough income to cover the modest operational costs of our volunteer organization. With prudent financial management and continued support from our generous donors, the Hamilton Wenham EdFund will remain a resource for educators and students for generations to come.
